Shaakuntalam is an Indian movie based on the Sanskrit play Abhijnanasakuntalam written by Kalidasa, one of the greatest poets and playwrights of ancient India. The movie was released in 2021, directed by Gunasekhar and stars Samantha Akkineni, Dev Mohan, and Aditi Balan in lead roles.

The story of Shaakuntalam revolves around the character of Shaakuntala, a beautiful and intelligent young woman who is raised in the forest by her father, the sage Vishwamitra.
